Guidelines for Rating Articles in AIP Advances
Ratings are to be given for each category:
- Impact
Rate 1-5 stars on the impact of this research. A five-star rating implies that it is your opinion that the research will have a very high impact within the general sciences. A one-star rating implies that you believe that the research will have little or no impact, even within restricted communities or research fields. - Presentation
Rate 1-5 stars on the presentation of this article. A five-star rating implies that it is your opinion that the research is presented, by the authors, in a manner that is thorough, rigorous, and easy to read and understand. A one-star rating implies that you believe that the presentation to be flawed to an extent where it renders the article difficult to follow or understand, or that the conclusions drawn are not fully supported. - Reliability
Rate 1-5 stars on the reliability of this research. A five-star rating implies that it is your opinion that the research is highly reliable. A one-star rating implies that you believe that the reliability of the research has not been demonstrated.
Ratings are understood to be solely the opinion of the rater, and any one rating should not be taken as a definitive conclusion on the quality (impact, presentation, and reliability) of the published paper. In order to submit a comment for consideration by the moderators, you must register with Scitation.org (AIP's online hosting platform). A full name is required to register with Scitation.org, and all information will be verified through that service. No name or affiliation will be posted alongside a rating.
